A surprise visit!

Friday, 10 June: Ruby and Finn's spectacle!

In the morning Rebecca and I flew to Girona to spend a long weekend with Ruby and Finn. We were so excited! We drove the car to France and stopped to do our grocery shopping for five days before heading to the school to pick up Ruby and Finn at 5pm. We were all so happy to see each other...

We drove to Pippa and Phil's at Port-Vendres, unpacked our groceries, ate supper and then Ruby and Finn got dressed ready for their spectacle which was in the Salle des Fêtes, commencing at 9pm.

Saturday, 11 June: Beach, beach, beach!

Needless to say, we were home very late and so had a late start to the next day! But we headed for Collioure and the beach. We were armed iwth buckets, spades, nets and food.

Sunday, 12 June: Festival of Port Vendres at Paulille

Anne and the children asked us to join them for the Festival of Port Vendres which was held at Paulilles. We ahd a picnic and there was lots of dancing and activities for the children. We also were able to go kayaking!

I dropped all three children off and then went and parked the car. I took this photo on the walk back to the beach. As usual, I got hideously lost, so took a long time to actually get back! From yesterday, they had learned this, so this time they found a place to sit and set up shop. (Yesterday, they stood patiently waiting for me before finding a spot...)

Monday, 13 June: A football tournoi.
Today was a day of much excitement as it was a public holiday and Finn was due to play in a football tournament in Thuir. This was the first time that Rebecca and I had the chance to see Finn play team football, so we were looking forward to the day very much.

After the tournament we returned to Collioure and the lovely Les Templiers for a drink.

And then back to Port Vendres for a supper with Anne and the children.

Tuesday, 14 June: School, beach, school, beach!

Today Ruby and Finn had to go to school, so we had an arrangement (wanting to see them as much as possible) to see them at lunchtime for two hours and then after school before we needed to return them at 7pm. At lunchtime we went to Argeles...

And then after school we headed to the same beach, for maximum time!

 Oh gosh! And then it was all over so soon! But we had a fabulous surprise visit. Thanks to you all!
